THE ROLE OF A DOULA
The role of a birth doula is to anticipate your needs in order to provide physical and emotional support during labor. We do this through the use of breathing, relaxation, and pain-relief techniques, such as massage, different labor positions, and meditation. While the support of a doula in labor is a great tool, your doula should also be with you during your pregnancy to provide educational resources, understand your birth plan, and help prepare you for the mental and physical journey of birth.
